Featured is a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels, an amazing subterranean system of passageways, living quarters, and even a hospital, made famous during the Vietnam War. Your next stop is Danang, with superb accommodations at "China Beach" on the South China Sea. From Danang, you'll travel the coast to the Imperial city of Hue, where you'll cruise the Perfume River, visit the Thien Mu Pagoda, and the "Forbidden Purple City." In Hanoi, capital of Vietnam, you'll explore the countryside and cruise Halong Bay in a junk boat. gliding by the picturesque archipelago of islands and magnificent rock formations, designated a "World Heritage Site." Day 1: Bangkok, Thailand
Arrive in Bangkok, one of Southeast Asia's most culturally dynamic cities. Package price shown does not include airfare to/from the USA.

Day 2: Bangkok - Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Today is at leisure to relax before your evening flight to Ho Chi Minh City, the former capital of Vietnam. Begin your experience by traveling to the 4,000-year-old culture of the once-isolated Vietnam. With its mist-covered fields, French architecture, surreal beaches and warm friendly people, Vietnam is now one of Asia's most alluring destinations. (B, D)

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City
Your day begins with a city tour featuring the Palace of the Jade Emperor, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office, the largest in Vietnam. Visit the Chinese neighborhood of Cholon, which means "Big Market", and visit the Thien Hau Pagoda, built by the Cantonese in the early 19th century. It is believed that Thien Hau can travel over the oceans on a mat and ride the clouds to wherever she pleases! You end your day at Binh Tay Market. (B, L)

Day 4: Ho Chi Minh City
Today's excursion begins with a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels, a vast 150-mile long network of underground passageways that were not discovered during war times. Visit the War Remnants Museum where a collection of weapons and photographs from two Indochina wars are exhibited. (B, L, D)

Day 5: Ho Chi Minh City - Danang
This morning you will fly north to Danang. Your next stop is Marble Mountain, the native soil of heroes and scholars. Here you will enjoy the serene beauty of the natural caves. After lunch, visit the old town of Hoi An, the 16th and 17th century trading port of Vietnam. Enjoy a cyclo tour of the city and visit the temples, pagoda and covered bridge. Day 6: Danang - Hue
Today's journey takes you along the coast, traveling from Danang to the Imperial city of Hue. You will travel along the Pass of Ocean Clouds and view the beautiful beaches and coastline. This afternoon, visit two mausoleums of emperors from the Nguyen Dynasty. (B, L, D)

Day 7: Hue
Begin your day with a cruise along the Perfume River. This is your opportunity to view some of the wildlife that lives in this splendid region. You will also visit the Thien Mu Pagoda, the Citadel, the "Forbidden Purple City," and the former Imperial Palace. (B, L, D)

Day 8: Hue - Hanoi - Halong Bay
A morning flight brings you to Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. Enjoy a scenic drive through the countryside, stopping en route to purchase native handicrafts at local shops. Later, arrive in Halong Bay, an archipelago of 3,000 islands and magnificent rock formations. See why the breathtaking Halong Bay has been designated a "World Heritage Site." (B, L, D)

Day 9: Halong Bay - Hanoi
You will begin your morning with a cruise on Halong Bay in a junk boat - a popular wooden sailboat used in the Far East. Cruise amongst the picturesque islands and view the amazing rock formations up close. After lunch, you return to Hanoi. Following dinner in a local restaurant, enjoy a performance at the world-famous Water Puppet Theater. (B, L, D)

Day 10: Hanoi
Today you will visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Lake of Restored Sword, Temple of Literature, One Pillar Pagoda and Vietnam History Museum. The afternoon allows time for shopping in the Old Quarter. Tonight, join your fellow travelers for a farewell dinner. (B, L, D)

Day 11: Hanoi - Bangkok, Thailand
Return to Bangkok where you will have leisure time to relax or perhaps do some last minute shopping. (B)
